Last updated May 1, 2026. The rules of the road for Betcha — what’s allowed in friend-group dumb bets, what isn’t, and how we handle violations.
What Betcha is
Betcha is a social product for friend groups making informal “dumb” bets — fun, low-stakes wagers on anything from sports to who flakes on dinner. The currency is bragging rights. There is no real money on the platform, no virtual currency with cash value, no prizes, no house, no odds, and no cash-out. Wins and losses exist socially between the people in a group.
Who Betcha is for
Betcha is intended for adult friend groups. The minimum permitted age is 13 in line with our Privacy Policy and Terms, but the realistic and intended audience is 18+. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 on the platform. If you believe a minor is using Betcha in a way that puts them at risk, see our Child Safety Standards and report it to team@betcha.social.
Trash talk vs. abuse
Betcha is built around group-chat energy: shit-talking, joking, gloating, and rivalries between friends are encouraged. The line is whether the target is in on the joke. Affectionate ribbing inside a group is the product. Targeted harassment, threats, slurs, hate speech, and content meant to humiliate or intimidate someone — inside or outside the group — are not.
Not allowed on Betcha
Do not use Betcha to: harass, threaten, dox, or impersonate other people; post hate speech, slurs, or content attacking someone based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender identity, or sexual orientation; sexualize minors in any form, including drawn or AI-generated content; share sexually explicit content or nudity; promote, coordinate, or glorify violence, self-harm, or terrorism; sell or coordinate the exchange of regulated goods (drugs, weapons, prescription pharmaceuticals, sexual services); operate a sportsbook, gambling service, prediction market, or money-transfer business through the app; solicit or coordinate real-money settlement of bets through the app; spam, phish, or distribute malware; or scrape, reverse-engineer, or otherwise interfere with the service.
No real-money gambling
Bets on Betcha are for bragging rights only. The app does not facilitate, calculate, or settle real-money payments between users. Using Betcha to organize, advertise, or coordinate real-money gambling — including pooling cash or crypto outside the app and using Betcha to track the wager — is a violation of these guidelines and may result in account removal.
Your content, your responsibility
You are responsible for what you post on Betcha — group names, bet prompts, comments, profile details, and anything else. Do not post content you do not have the right to share, and do not post content about other people without their permission where the law or basic decency requires it. Betcha may remove content or accounts that violate these guidelines, our Terms, or applicable law.
How to report a problem
If you see something that breaks these rules, report it. On any comment, open the menu and tap “Report” — choose a reason and add context. You can also block any user from that same menu. For anything that needs direct attention from the Betcha team, including suspected child-safety issues, email team@betcha.social. See our Reporting & Moderation page for how reports are handled.
Consequences
Violations may result in content removal, warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent account bans depending on severity and pattern. Severe violations — including CSAE/CSAM, credible threats of violence, and coordinated harassment — result in immediate permanent bans. See Account Termination & Appeals for the process and how to appeal.
