Account Termination & Appeals

Last updated May 1, 2026. When Betcha accounts are suspended or banned, what happens after, and how to appeal.

When accounts are removed

Betcha may remove content, suspend an account temporarily, or ban an account permanently when its activity violates our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or Child Safety Standards, or when its activity is unlawful, threatens other users, or compromises the integrity of the service. The action chosen depends on the severity of the violation, whether it is a first occurrence or a pattern, and the level of harm involved.

Severe violations: immediate permanent ban

Some violations result in an immediate permanent ban without prior warning. These include: any content involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of a minor (CSAE/CSAM); credible threats of violence; coordinated harassment campaigns; large-scale spam or fraud; attempts to compromise the security of the service or its users; and using Betcha to operate a real-money sportsbook, gambling service, or money-transfer business.

Other violations: graduated response

For less severe violations we typically use a graduated response: content removal, a written warning, a temporary suspension, and finally a permanent ban for repeated or escalating behavior. We weigh the user’s overall history on the platform, not only a single report, when deciding what action to take.

You can also delete your own account

You can permanently delete your Betcha account at any time from the in-app user menu, or from the public deletion form at betcha.social/delete-account. Account deletion removes your sign-in record and personal profile. Content you created in a shared group context — bet prompts, comments, group names — is retained and reassigned to a placeholder “Deleted user” so remaining group members can still read their own history. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.

How to appeal

If you believe your account was suspended or banned in error, you can appeal by emailing team@betcha.social with the subject line “Account appeal.” Include the email address tied to your Betcha account, a brief description of what you believe happened, and any context you want us to consider. We aim to respond to appeals within seven days. Appeals for severe violations — particularly those involving child safety or credible threats — face a higher bar and are reviewed individually.

What happens after a ban

A permanent ban removes the user’s ability to sign in, create new groups or bets, and post comments. Existing content authored by the banned user may be removed or reassigned at our discretion. Banned users may not create new accounts to evade the ban; doing so is itself a violation and any evasion accounts are also subject to removal.
