Delete your account
Last updated April 22, 2026. You can delete your Betcha account at any time. This page explains how, and what happens to your data when you do.
Delete from inside the app
The fastest way is from within Betcha. Open the app, tap your avatar in the top-right to open the user menu, and tap Delete account. You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm. The deletion is immediate — there is no grace period and no undo.
Request deletion by email
If you no longer have the Betcha app installed, email team@betcha.social from the email address on your account with the subject "Delete my account." We use the sender address to verify ownership, so the request must come from the same email you sign in with. We process these requests within 30 days and will reply to confirm once the deletion has completed.
What gets deleted
Your sign-in record, your profile (email, display name, avatar, color), your push notification tokens, your notification preferences, your group memberships, your comments and reactions, any feedback you have submitted, and any email preferences tied to your account.
What is retained and shown as "Deleted user"
Content you created inside a shared group — the groups you created, the bets you created, the bets you placed, and any settle-up records — is retained and reassigned to a placeholder "Deleted user" account. This is so the other members of your groups keep a readable history of who-said-what-about-what. Your name, email, and avatar are not part of this retained content; only a generic "Deleted user" label remains.
What is anonymized
Aggregate product analytics events are retained but disassociated from you — the user identifier is cleared so the events can no longer be linked back to you.
Coming back
If you change your mind later, you can sign up again with the same email address. You will get a fresh account with no data from your previous account.
